Job Title: Fabricator

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our Mechanical Manufacturing department at our Poway facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to material control, assembly, and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs material control steps to induct raw materials, including counting, labeling, and storage.
  • Operates laser etch equipment to produce permanent part markings.
  • Performs assembly operations, including riveting, bonding, and mechanical assembly.
  • Installs hardware using PEM, Helicoil, and Mil Spec hardware.
  • Performs bearing installation, proofing, and testing using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Operates punch press to produce sheet metal blanks.
  • Operates press brake to form sheet metal parts.
  • Assists with running manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinding equipment to perform various operations.
  • Utilizes blueprints, sketches, drawings, verbal descriptions, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent or a certificate in a related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication policies and procedures is required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic computer applications skills pertinent to the field are necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and respond to routine issues or situations.
Working Conditions:

The Fabricator will work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. The position requires the ability to work extended hours as required.
