Fabrication Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Fabricator, Assembly to join our Mechanical Manufacturing department at GA-ASI. This position will be located in our Poway facility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform material control tasks, including counting, labeling, and storage of raw materials.
- Operate laser etch equipment to produce permanent part markings.
- Perform assembly operations, including riveting, bonding, and mechanical assembly.
- Install hardware using PEM, Helicoil, and Mil Spec hardware.
- Install bearings, proof, and test using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform metal cutting using saws, shears, and notchers.
- Operate a punch press to produce sheet metal blanks.
- Operate a press brake to form sheet metal parts.
- Assist with running manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinding equipment.
- Utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, verbal descriptions, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent or a certificate in a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of fabrication policies and procedures is required.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Basic computer applications skills pertinent to the field are necessary.
- Ability to work in a team environment and respond to routine issues or situations.
