Job Title: Electrician Helper

We are seeking an ambitious and hard-working Electrician Helper to join our team at The H&K Group, Inc. This role will assist the electrician with installs and repairs of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, electronic components, and lighting fixtures
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus
  • Drive between locations to complete responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school in a relevant electrical field AND 2 years related electrical experience and/or training
  • Driver's License
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, and order processing systems
  • Technical electrical skills and learning agility
  • Problem solving
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years related electrical experience and/or training
  • Experience in manufacturing plants, especially asphalt or concrete
  • Experience in surface mining
  • Experience with heavy civil and/or road construction
  • OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
