Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and maintain clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program
  • Utilize customer service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering telephone
  • Complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients
Requirements
  • High school Diploma / GED
  • Functionally Literate
  • Ability to perform tasks such as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • General computer skills and applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience
  • Current BLS
  • Ability to act quickly under stress and learn skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Previous documentation experience using an electronic medical record (EMR), preferably Epic
  • Prior experience in acute care facility
  • Previous experience in healthcare or a nursing support role
