Job Summary

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Elizabeth HealthCare, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with activities of daily living, provide personal care, and maintain a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide General Patient Care: Assist patients with bathing, mouth care, and peri-care, dressing, and changing/making beds.
  • Positioning and Mobility: Position patients, lift, and turn, apply/utilize special equipment, assist with bowel and bladder functions, and ambulate patients.
  • Meal Preparation and Assistance: Prepare and assist patients with meals, feed patients, remove dietary trays, and record accurate intake and output.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document care provided, follow directions, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
  • Education and Training: Attend and seek out education programs to maintain and learn new treatments, procedures, clinical skills, and complete mandatory in-service days to maintain certification.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certified in the state where work is being performed as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Education and Training: Completion of applicable state courses and successful completion of the Certified Nurse Assistant exam required for certification.
  • Background Check: Not listed on the applicable State Abuse Registry.
  • CPR Certification: Must have CPR for the professional rescuer.
