We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our health care team, you will provide evaluation and clinical skills specific to patient care according to our department's scope of service.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patients in the clinic, obtaining a thorough understanding of their condition through observation, interview, and physical examination.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including the use of therapeutic modalities and exercises to promote healing and recovery.
- Assist with in-office procedures as directed by the provider, including the administration of medication and injections.
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as the use of protective equipment and devices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and treatment plans.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners or license eligible
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
- One year of experience as an athletic trainer preferred
This position will work under the clinical supervision of a provider for patient care activities and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor. The Department of Orthopaedics at UNC is built upon core values that encompass clinical care, operations, teaching, research, and an unwavering commitment to our people.
