Senior Engineer Model Building Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team at Raytheon, where you will play a critical role in developing and implementing modeling solutions for missile design, performance assessment, and flight test support.
Key Responsibilities- Create high-fidelity simulations and models for missile design, performance assessment, and flight test support
- Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies, and evaluate system and subsystem performance
- Work in a team environment, receiving inputs from team supervisors and providing guidance and/or direction to other team members
- Collaborate with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, and other department personnel to perform simulation activities
- Work on diverse projects, determine and develop approaches and solutions, and provide development guidance throughout the product lifecycle from initial concept to fielded product
- Provide technical expertise for the simulation products of a specific program, and assist senior Modeling Engineers in the preparation of detailed plans, and may interact with government counterparts as an authority on simulation products
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and five (5) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
- Experience programming in C, C++, or other high-order language and experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
- Experience developing or simulating physical systems
- Academic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis for existing or proposed engineering solutions
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
- Leadership experience managing others using applied system engineering principles, experience working on a team and by yourself, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines, and developing and presenting technical briefings
- Experience developing signal processing/GNC algorithms or models for missile applications
- Experience with Control Hardware Design and Test, hardware/software integration, modeling physics and physical systems as related to flight dynamics
- Experience using UNIX/Linux-based workstations and using Software Configuration Management tools
- Course work or experience in some of the following fields: radar, signal & image processing, radar and/or EO/IR environment models, digital communications, probability and statistics, linear algebra, estimation theory, optimal control, system architecture, inertial navigation, guidance theory
- Current Department of Defense security clearance
