Oyster Shucker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Oyster Shucker to join our team at Bourbon House. As an Oyster Shucker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving oysters to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare oysters for service by washing, opening, and arranging them on ice-filled dishes or in cold storage.
  • Serve customers at the bar, including placing silverware, napkins, potato chips, and condiments on the bar.
  • Mix cocktail sauces and other ingredients to create a unique dining experience.
  • Retrieve sacks of oyster product from cold storage for work stations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • 6-12 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ServSafe or other food safety management certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety and good math skills are essential.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete documentation, including weights and measurements.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.
