Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

• Fills and prepares new and refill prescriptions for final verification by pharmacist, including calculating days supply, quantity, and dose, determining 340b eligibility, and working with nurses and providers to assist the pharmacist in clarifying prescriptions.
• Pull medications, order medications, and restock the department, conducting frequent and accurate inventory counts and making purchasing decisions on medications based upon par levels and anticipated future needs.
• Greet customers and assist them at the register, collecting prescription co-payment via the cash register and point-of-sale software, and assisting customers with questions regarding copayments and payment history on prescriptions.
• Maintain OTC area, including ordering, stocking, updating prices, checking outdates, and maintaining.

• PHARM TECH: Pharmacy Technician Licensure
• Equivalent Experience: New hire and transfers before October 1, 2015 must possess a full technician license or limited pharmacy license through the state of Michigan. Effective October 1, 2015, all incumbents, new hires and transfers to this position must possess a pharmacy technician temporary, limited or full license through the state of Michigan.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and interact with patients and staff in a professional and courteous manner. The successful candidate will be able to lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently walk/stand/push/pull of arm/leg controls, and have overall dexterity including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling.

This role is based in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting and requires the ability to work in a clean and safe environment. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes, and follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
