Key Responsibilities:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:


As a Systems Engineer within the Nuclear Monitoring Program, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on the operations, maintenance, and sustainability of a global network of radionuclide monitoring stations.

The Nuclear Monitoring Program offers both remote and on-site troubleshooting support for a network of radionuclide monitoring stations associated with the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

We welcome candidates with the following preferred skills or experiences:

- Experience in managing and executing projects
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for system maintenance and repairs (typically 1-4 weeks per trip)
- Capability to build, test, and assess new equipment and sensors in an engineering test environment at our facility

What Distinguishes You:
- Understanding of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, nuclear sensor technology, spectroscopy, noble gas science, and data acquisition
- Basic electrical and mechanical skills are essential, with hands-on experience being highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to articulate issues, impacts, and corrective measures
- Clear comprehension of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
- Innovative thinker with the ability to quickly assimilate new information and manage increasing responsibilities
- Team-oriented individual who thrives in collaborative settings and values team achievements
