About The Job

The Caton Companies, a leading Heavy/Highway Civil & General Construction company, seeks an experienced Heavy Highway Laborer for its Roadway Project in Mecklenburg County, NC.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year (depending on experience), plus benefits and overtime opportunities.

Job Summary: Perform tasks involving physical labor at general building and highway/heavy construction projects. Assist other craft workers, operate hand and power tools, and maintain a clean job site.

Responsibilities:

  • Shovel bituminous concrete into construction areas.
  • Excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and securing the area each day.
  • Perform materials handling and storage, loading and unloading trucks.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of heavy highway experience; roads, highways, bridges, DOT, or site work project experience.
  • Valid CDL a plus, OSHA 10 hour training or Flagger Certification a plus.
