Job Description

Santos Alaska LLC seeks an experienced Operations Readiness Manager to lead the transition from construction and commissioning phases to full operational status. This critical role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of operations in the oil and gas industry.


Main Responsibilities
  • Transition and Planning:
    • Design and implement an integrated operations readiness plan, ensuring alignment with project milestones and operational objectives.
    • Manage the transfer of personnel and resources from project delivery to operational phases.
    • Drive improvements to operations readiness programs and participate in corporate opportunity delivery processes.
  • System Implementation:
    • Develop and establish operational systems, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations, in line with the Santos Management System.
    • Validate and test all operational systems before commissioning.
  • Risk Management:
    • Assess potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Regularly evaluate risk assessments and ensure contingency plans are in place.
    • Collaborate on Process Hazard Evaluation process development.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Facilitate collaboration between functions to ensure Operations has input on project basis of design.
    • Engage with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on operational readiness activities.
    • Maintain effective communication channels to keep all parties informed.

    Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need a bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent and 10+ years of major asset or projects experience in operations readiness program design and implementation. You should also possess strong technical competence, leadership skills, and the ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
