Job Summary

The Emory University Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for handling administrative activities associated with the conduct of clinical trials. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate records and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data related to research projects
  • Complete source documents and case report forms as required
  • Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Assist with patient recruitment and retention
  • Attend study meetings and participate in discussions
  • Order and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Review medical records and conduct screenings for recruitment of study participants
  • Collect and process study specimens according to protocol
  • Coordinate services and schedules procedures
  • Monitor charges and perform quality assurance tasks
Additional Job Details

This position will be responsible for processing human biological samples for various clinical trial studies, generating itemized summary reports, shipping samples, and maintaining laboratory inventory. The successful candidate will also serve as a liaison between the core and clinical faculty.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and three years of administrative support experience
  • Or two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and one year of admin support or customer service experience
  • Or be a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and one year of admin support or one year of licensed practical nursing experience
  • Or a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical specimen processing experience
  • Basic laboratory bench skills
  • BSL2 and/or BSL2-enhanced training
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Multitasking ability
