Child Life Specialist

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in reducing emotional distress and trauma associated with illness, injury, and healthcare experiences for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessments, interventions, and therapeutic techniques for patients from infancy to adolescence
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and other staff to advocate for patient and family needs
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain required clinical knowledge, training, and credentials
- Promote family-centered care initiatives and adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients and families
- Bachelor's degree in child life, child and family studies, child development, or a related field
- 1 year of experience in child life, child and family studies, child development, or a related field
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
