Position Overview

The GLOW YMCA is in search of dedicated professionals who embody the YMCA mission and values, demonstrating a commitment to our programs and services.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for certified and experienced Group Exercise Instructors. Candidates with diverse backgrounds in various class types and fitness levels are encouraged to apply. Instructors will enjoy a complimentary YMCA membership along with competitive compensation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct engaging, enjoyable, safe, and informative group classes as assigned by management, contributing to the YMCA's mission and objectives. Focus on increasing participation, retention, and enrollment.
  2. Provide assistance to members by answering inquiries related to their health and fitness goals. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of wellness trends to offer valuable guidance and support.
  3. Establish genuine, effective relationships with members; facilitate connections among participants and the YMCA community. Maintain a friendly, attentive, and responsive demeanor.
  4. Maintain accurate attendance records for classes.
  5. Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures; be prepared to respond to emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete the YMCA New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 60 days of employment.
  2. Required certifications include CPR with AED within 90 days of employment.
  3. A minimum of one year of experience in teaching group wellness classes is preferred.
