Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Great River Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing tests and procedures in assigned sections, exercising independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently perform qualitative and quantitative tests, following established guidelines and predetermined criteria.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and use knowledge, critical thinking skills, and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• One-year clinical internship in a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited clinical laboratory science program or approved alternate career path that meets certification eligibility requirements.
• Certification in one of the following: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB).
