We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Iona University. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity of cash, investment, endowment, debt, and cashflow accounting, reporting, and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities- Cash Management: Analyze and forecast cash based on historical trends and future operational planning, perform account reconciliations and analysis, and monitor fees and expenses to identify savings opportunities.
- Investment Management: Maintain reporting for investments, prepare financial statement data related to investments and endowments, monitor investment transactions for policy compliance, and prepare select materials for the Investment Committee meeting.
- Debt Management: Assist with the issuance of debt, develop and maintain debt management policies, and manage debt compliance with reporting on bank covenant requirements, quarterly financial reporting, and other IRS requirements.
- Insurance Management: Maintain claim records and Certificate of Insurance requests, review insurance to ensure information is up to date, manage insurance expense budget and payments to carriers, and prepare renewal materials for property and casualty lines.
- Other Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of special studies, reports, analyses, and other tasks as required, generate ad-hoc reporting and analysis of cash and treasury operations, debt and liquidity, and develop useful, standardized reporting for senior executives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
