Aortic Clinical Specialist Job Description

At Medtronic, we are committed to alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. As an Aortic Clinical Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving procedural and practice success in the adoption and growth of our Aortic technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical, clinical, educational, and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of the Medtronic Aortic technology.
  • Work closely with physician implanting teams, the Medtronic Aortic Field Sales, and Cardiovascular field organizations to drive procedural and practice success.
  • Provide clinical expertise for Aortic implanting centers, including case sizing and planning, and providing technical support in accordance with the instructions for use and best practices.
  • Support site performance and facilitate procedural growth by providing education and training activities with physicians, hospital support staff, and Medtronic personnel.
  • Stay abreast of and communicate clinical data regarding Medtronic products and Aortic therapies.
  • Collaborate and strategize with territory sales representatives and Aortic field organizations to achieve sales targets and execute business plans.
Requirements:
  • High school degree and 6 years of clinical or sales experience in healthcare or B2B, or Associate's degree and 4 years of clinical or sales experience in healthcare or B2B, or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of clinical or sales experience in healthcare or B2B.
  • Associate's Degree in engineering, nursing, or the sciences, or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Science.
  • Experience with wires, balloons, catheters, stents, and exceptional understanding of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Experience communicating product market advantages to physicians and hospital administration, managing multiple accounts, teaching and educating medical personnel, peers, and technical support personnel, and imaging interpretation experience (CT, Angiograms).
  • Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, excellent influencing and consulting skills, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, ability to make timely and sound decisions, strong project management skills with experience coordinating programs, thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures, and the medical device industry, excellent customer service skills, and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with peers and colleagues across organizational levels and functions.
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Regularly required to be independently mobile, interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
  • Able to lift 20 pounds, extended periods of time doing computer-based work, hearing, sight, and speaking ability, ability to use computers and CT reconstruction programming, ability to travel extensively by car and plane, and ability to work in Cath Labs or OR's with radiation exposure.

Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations (USD): $70,000.00 - $75,000.00. In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
