Position Overview
Nuvance Health is a prominent healthcare network offering a variety of hospital and outpatient services, including multiple locations for primary and specialty care. We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our medical team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Role Summary:
The LPN will assist healthcare providers in delivering essential medical services to patients within our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare necessary materials, supplies, and equipment, as well as assist patients for their medical examinations.
- Gather patient histories and vital signs, including temperature, height, weight, vision, and primary concerns.
- Provide direct patient care, which may include administering vaccinations, wound care, and medication management.
- Collect and process patient specimens as instructed by healthcare providers.
- Educate patients and their families on preventive care, medication adherence, and monitoring health changes.
- Conduct follow-up communications with patients regarding test results and physician instructions.
- Engage in organizational tasks to support the mission of the practice and ensure quality improvement.
- Complete all necessary compliance and meaningful use requirements.
- Exhibit Nuvance Health values and maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: Basic medical knowledge, proficiency in data entry, and skills in obtaining accurate patient vitals. Current BLS certification and experience in vaccine administration and medication preparation are essential.
Preferred: Bilingual proficiency, experience in phlebotomy and EKG, and successful completion of medical scribing within the probationary period.
Work Environment:
This position is part-time, with a standard schedule of 24 hours per week. The work shift is during the day, with availability from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Physical Requirements:
Essential duties may require some manual dexterity and the ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force. The working conditions are generally pleasant, with some occupational risks.
