Job Summary:

Tennessee Quality Care is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Home Health Division. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from surgery or illness, cope with a difficult health challenge, or seek end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides occupational therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
  • Develops treatment programs and establishes goals for improved function, communicating plans of care to referring physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Teaches new skills or re-trains patients in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with our policy.
  • Fabricates splints and instructs patients in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function.
  • Trains patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
  • Maintains accurate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports any changes in patient condition to physicians, submitting records in accordance with our policy.
  • Maintains contact/communication with other personnel involved in patient care to promote coordinated, efficient care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • At least Two (2) years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist (Preferred).
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Complies and maintains current CPR certification.
