About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Project Engineer III to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to work on transformational projects, including the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, one of the largest highway infrastructure projects in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.
  • Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analysis evaluations.
  • Use current engineering design software to coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements: BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Professional engineering-related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges, PE licensure, 6+ years of demonstrated OhDOT bridge design project work, BS, MS, and 6+ years of related experience, knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as OpenRoads and OpenBridge.
