Job Title: Direct Support Professional ~ Full-Time

Life Works is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, learn, and grow in their community.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to provide support and assistance to our clients in their daily lives. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive environment, promoting independence, and encouraging participation in various activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Support clients in developing and maintaining daily routines, including medication management and appointment scheduling.
  • Encourage clients to participate in recreational activities, social events, and community outings.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Document client progress, needs, and concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Essential physical skills, including the ability to lift, bend, and transfer clients as needed.
  • Adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, behavioral health, and/or medical needs.
  • Good driving record and ability to transport clients as needed.
