Job Summary

CVS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to join our team in a Long Term Care setting. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the dispensing pharmacy, ensuring efficient and accurate medication dispensing.
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date on industry, regulatory, and compliance developments, and implement strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues, including regulatory changes, FDA drug recalls, and drug information.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to ensure the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of pharmacist licensure and technician registrations, and respond to warning notices from the Board.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a primary source of information and respond to internal and external customer questions or clarification of information.
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Virginia, active and in good standing.
  • Preferred qualifications include 1 year of management experience in a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager role, 1 year of pharmacist experience in a long term care dispensing role, and immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified.
  • Education: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
