The Indian Health Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Optometrist to lead our Comprehensive Eye Care Program. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating a comprehensive eye care program that meets the needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive eye care program that meets the needs of our patients
- Supervise and manage a team of optometrists and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Develop and manage the eye care budget to ensure efficient use of resources
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in optometry and eye care to ensure our program remains current and effective
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited educational program
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- At least one year of specialized experience as an optometrist, including experience in supervising and managing a team of optometrists and support staff
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
This position is located in a Federally operated hospital, health center, or clinic. As a result, you must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entry on duty or have IHS approve a medical or religious exemption.
