Service Equipment Technician

Salary Range: $50,000-$90,000

Position Overview As a Service Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for traveling to various client locations using a company vehicle to install and maintain loading dock systems, overhead doors, and specialized lifting equipment. This role serves as a vital technical support resource for both our organization and our clients. You will work autonomously or in small teams within a field service context, ensuring a well-organized work environment. No prior experience is necessary, as we are committed to providing comprehensive training and education in our industry and the specific job functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests to ensure equipment operates according to specifications; make necessary modifications and adjustments.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Dismantle or disassemble equipment as needed.
  • Maintain punctuality in all job-related activities.
  • Address inquiries and concerns regarding products and services.
  • Plan and oversee the installation and repair of new or refurbished machinery.
  • Carry out safety inspections on equipment.
  • Tag equipment that is identified as unsafe.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with both mechanical and electrical components.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of the operation of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, both independently and in conjunction with one another.
  • Understand the reasons for part failures and how to effectively replace or repair them.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of various types of equipment.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics effectively.
  • Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, stretch, bend, stoop, push, and pull for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity necessary for inspecting and modifying large and intricate equipment components.
  • Manual dexterity required for assembling, disassembling, adjusting, servicing, and performing planned maintenance on equipment, as well as driving a vehicle.
