Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Mental Health Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to patients with mental health needs, including personal hygiene, ambulation, and healthy behaviors.
  • Facilitate tasks and activities to promote social interaction, healing, and healthy functioning.
  • Report observations, record data, and communicate patient dilemmas to senior clinical staff members.
  • Round in the facility to ensure a safe, orderly environment, while safeguarding clients according to their daily activity schedules.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • One year experience providing care in a setting including hospital, nursing home, treatment facility, assisted living, or home health/private duty.
  • NVCRISIS - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 6 months.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
