About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of our fleet vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your expertise to diagnose and repair complex issues with our vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document all work performed on our fleet vehicles, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other members of our maintenance team to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with the latest technologies and techniques in the field of heavy duty truck maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, or a related field, is required. A medium or heavy duty truck technical training program is preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: ASE certifications in automotive or medium/heavy duty trucks are preferred. Other certifications, such as brake inspector certification, may also be beneficial.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent diagnostic and repair skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills, are essential for this role.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.
