Job Summary:

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microbiologist to join our Research and Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and validating microbiological assays in compliance with good laboratory practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate microbiological assays for use in a CLIA laboratory
  • Process specimens, perform test procedures, generate reports, and maintain records
  • Maintain anaerobic growth environments, work with aseptic techniques, and handle bacteria and fungal cultures
  • Develop and maintain control organisms, write and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and perform equipment maintenance
  • Assist in quality control and improvement activities, training, and orienting other testing personnel
  • Effectively communicate with team members

Requirements:

  • CLIA certification
  • Strong background in microbiology, including anaerobic growth techniques and antibiotic susceptibility testing
  • Experience with MIC and disc diffusion methods
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
