About the Opportunity
The University of Maine System is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Summer Upward Bound Program as a Residential Advisor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and engaging environment for high school students.
As a Residential Advisor, you will be responsible for providing direct support to Upward Bound participants, living in the residence hall. You will also plan and facilitate daily activities for students, focusing on academic, career, and health, wellness, and personal development.
You will have the opportunity to deliver Upward Bound Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum via Advisor Group facilitation on a weekly basis and plan and deliver daily wellness activities to students.
In addition, you will tutor/assist students individually and in small groups during nightly study sessions, as well as Common Time. Your comprehensive evaluations of assigned students will help us better understand their growth and progress.
This is an exciting opportunity to engage with high school students in innovative and creative ways, promoting their intellectual and personal growth while providing companionship, support, and positive role modeling.
