The University of Maine at Farmington is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Police Officer.
This role is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including responding to emergency situations, answering radio or telephone dispatches, and communicating with the faculty, staff, students, and general public while patrolling the university streets.
**Responsibilities:**
- Respond to routine and complex emergencies, answer and respond to radio or telephone dispatches, and communicate with the faculty, staff, students, and general public while patrolling the university streets.
- Assist individuals with disabled vehicles and vehicle lockouts, check building security, and observe the behavior of citizens.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure a smooth flow of traffic, including directing traffic and issuing citations for moving and/or parking violations.
- Prepare suspect illness and injury, accident, arrest, and administrative reports.
**Benefits:**
- A competitive salary range of $24.35 to $33.08 per hour, plus shift differential (based on experience and Maine Criminal Justice Academy BLETP Certification).
- A typical schedule of Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am.
