About the Role

The Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at Summit Pacific Medical Center. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work under the delegation of a licensed independent practitioner to perform various duties and assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care within the MA-R scope of practice, carrying out providers' orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate patient flow to ensure optimal clinic operations and patient experience, communicating with patients, providers, and coworkers as needed.
  • Document presenting complaints, follow clinic policies and procedures for rooming patients and completing vital signs, and prepare patients for provider exams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, filing documents in the electronic health record daily and dispersing incoming paper patient records to the appropriate provider.
  • Perform daily room checks, stock exam rooms with necessary supplies, and perform point-of-care controls.
  • Assist with treatments and procedures within MA-R scope of practice, assembling necessary supplies and coordinating with Environmental Services to maintain a clean environment.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior MA-R experience preferred.
  • Current Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant-Registered Licensure or applied within two weeks of employment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 90 days of hire.
