Animal Adoption Coordinator - Full Time

The Champaign County Humane Society is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Animal Adoption Coordinator. This full-time role involves engaging with the community and assisting individuals in selecting their future pet companions.

Work Schedule: The position requires availability on weekends, some evenings, and holidays. The starting compensation for this role is $15.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in animal handling is essential.
  • Familiarity with pet ownership and care is preferred.
  • Must possess a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills, both in person and through various digital platforms.
  • Proficient in computer usage and capable of accurate data entry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to inquiries and providing assistance to callers.
  • Facilitating safe and positive experiences between animals and prospective adopters.
  • Managing the processing of adoption applications.
  • Communicating pet health and behavior information to potential adopters.
  • Clarifying adoption policies and agreements with interested parties.
  • Preparing the facility for daily operations.
  • Performing animal care tasks, including cleaning and walking dogs.
