Adoption Staff

Adoption Staff - Full Time

CCHS has an open full-time position on the Adoption staff. Adoption staff members greet the public and assist our patrons in finding their next animal companion.

Hours will include weekend days, some evenings, and some holidays. Starting pay is $15.00 an hour.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling animals is required
• Knowledge and/or experience related to pet ownership
• Friendly and outgoing
• Effective communicator in person, via email, and over the phone
• Adept at using a computer and performing accurate data entry

Responsibilities include:

• Answering phones and assisting callers
• Facilitating safe and positive interactions between animals and potential adopters
• Processing adoption applications
• Explaining details of pet health and behavior records to adopters
• Explaining details of adoption policies and contracts with adopters
• Preparing the animal shelter for daily open-hours
• Animal Care duties, such as kennel/cage cleaning, dog walking

Physiological Considerations:

This is a physically demanding position and involves some exposure to loud noise and strong chemicals/cleaning products.

• Must possess good safety awareness and judgment
