Pharmacy Technician Role Overview

CVS Health is committed to delivering enhanced human-centric healthcare for a rapidly changing world. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our team's ability to promptly, safely, and accurately fill patient prescriptions while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to ensure seamless prescription fulfillment.
  • Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations, demonstrating a genuine commitment to patient care.
  • Complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to your State's Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe and efficient work environment, adhering to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy).
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy).
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on tasks over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people and do so in a friendly manner.
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating day's supply of a prescription.
  • Problem Resolution: Ability to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and choose the best course of action.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • PTCB National Certification.
