Job Summary

Oil States International is seeking a skilled Welder Fitter I to join our team in Houma, Louisiana. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing basic set-ups and fundamental welds to specification, cutting parts, and assembling components according to blueprints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare pre-cut parts or construct parts by cutting with a torch, grinding pieces to fit, and assembling for welding according to drawings or specifications.
  • Tack parts and clean for final welding, applying the required type and size of weld according to specifications.
  • Inspect welds for defects, clean for testing, and check blueprints for measurements and proper material.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, keep equipment in good working order, and prepare welds for Non-Destructive Testing (NDE).
  • Identify welds with ID stamps and complete any required paperwork.
Requirements
  • Minimum of six months prior experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Certified on 1G Plate and able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including measurement computations, and good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow both simple and complex instructions and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, climbing, and awkward body positioning.
  • Lifting and carrying requirement of 45 pounds.
