Welder Fitter I Job Summary

Oil States International is seeking a skilled Welder Fitter I to join our team in Houma, Louisiana. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing basic set-ups and fundamental welds to specification, cutting parts, and assembling components according to blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare pre-cut parts or construct parts by cutting with a torch, grinding pieces to fit, and assembling for welding according to drawings or specifications.
  • Tack parts and clean for final welding, applying the correct type and size of weld required.
  • Check blueprints for measurements and proper material, and prepare a materials list if required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, and keep equipment in good working order.
  • Prepare welds for Non-Destructive Testing (NDE), and identify welds with an ID stamp.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of six months prior experience in a similar role.
  • Certified on 1G successfully complete company-administered test of basic welds at 1G Plate level, including stick and flux core.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including measurement and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow both simple and complex instructions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, climbing, and awkward body positioning.
  • Lifting and carrying requirement of 45 pounds.
  • Non-climate-controlled environment.
