The Lot Driver is a critical role at Leonard Buildings, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of sheds and truck accessories from our retail lot to customers' locations. This position reports directly to the District Sales Manager and requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transporting Portable Buildings: Safely transport and deliver portable buildings to customers' locations, ensuring they are properly secured and aligned.
  • Scheduling and Route Management: Obtain a schedule from the Route Manager and plan routes to ensure efficient delivery and minimize downtime.
  • Inspection and Repair: Inspect buildings for defects before loading and repair any issues found to ensure a smooth delivery process.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating with customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Delivery and Pick-up: Deliver and pick up buildings, ensuring they are properly secured and aligned, and complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Expense Reports and Compliance: Maintain accurate expense reports and comply with all fleet and company policies, as well as DOT regulations.
Requirements:
  • Competencies: Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and DOT physical. Excellent customer service and professional communication skills are essential.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and at least 2 years of experience in a delivery role, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Travel: This position requires approximately 95% travel within the United States to customer sites within the dedicated area.
