Position Overview:
CREDIT RISK POLICY ANALYST
WHAT IS THE ROLE?This role entails the examination, authorization, and/or modification of new and updated credit policies and procedures for the Credit Policy Manual and the Credit Procedures Manual.
This position is also tasked with evaluating and presenting data related to trends and the overall performance of the credit portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the credit risk framework that aligns with the Bank's current status, desired credit culture, industry best practices, risk appetite, and regulatory standards.
2. Gather insights from various departments and levels within the bank to evaluate existing and necessary policy updates, including revisions to current policies and the development of new policies as required.
3. Collaborate with different lending units within the Bank to create, review, and/or modify new and existing credit policies, identifying potential conflicts within current and proposed policies.
4. Identify deficiencies in current policy requirements and practices; recommend revisions to rectify issues while ensuring robust risk management practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Conduct analysis and research on credit policy matters and propose changes to the Senior Credit Policy Officer.
6. Work alongside the Credit Portfolio Risk Department to generate reports for the Board of Directors and senior management on behalf of the Chief Credit Officer.
7. Interpret trend data regarding asset quality and the relationship between policy exceptions and overall portfolio performance.
8. Analyze the effects of modifications to credit risk practices on credit policy framework documents.
9. Research and prepare presentations for the Credit Policy Committee; present findings to the Senior Credit Policy Officer for approval.
10. Assist in the administrative functions of various governance committees, including recording minutes, assembling and distributing materials, and providing logistical support.
11. Aid the Senior Credit Policy Officer and business leaders in identifying and prioritizing credit policy workflows.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 7 years of experience in a banking environment
- 7 years of experience in credit, risk management, and regulatory oversight
Skills and Expertise:
- Proficiency in Excel, Access, MS PowerPoint, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial portfolio management, credit risk, commercial credit underwriting, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of delivering business presentations to small groups.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of management.
Compensation:
Base salary range: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
