Job Summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our Business Office team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting delinquent accounts, establishing payment arrangements with patients, and ensuring timely payments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collect delinquent accounts and establish payment arrangements with patients.
  2. Evaluate unpaid accounts and work with collection agencies as needed.
  3. Handle bankruptcy accounts and follow up with patients to ensure timely payments.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and respond to their inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Set up payment arrangements and monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
  6. Work with self-paying accounts to establish payment plans and ensure timely payments.
  7. Prepare and mail collection letters and review accounts on a scheduled basis.
  8. Record all transactions and correspondence on accounts.
  9. Notify collection agencies of payments received and prepare bad debt reports.
  10. Handle medical liens and patient financial applications.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to use hospital information systems and operate basic computer functions and software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
