Mechanical Engineer TalentZök Job Overview

TalentZök is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for commercial and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish design criteria and communicate with other disciplines and the project team.
  • Design mechanical systems, including heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, hydronics, steam, plumbing, gas, and compressed-air utilities.
  • Advise design-team members on applicable codes and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and best-practices.
  • Coordinate and oversee floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for complex design preparations.
  • Develop construction documentation and BIM models using Revit MEP or similar CAD package.
  • Create mechanical specifications based on project requirements.
  • Execute QA/QC process and supervise the installation of designed systems and equipment during construction.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
  • Manage the mechanical engineering of small projects.
  • Oversee the production of design documents by graduate engineers.
  • Balance workload and varying requirements of multiple projects.
  • Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.
  • Communicate with departmental representatives and outside vendors.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and execute continuous improvements to policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school.
  • P.E. Licensure.
  • 4+ years of building design experience.
  • Experience with Revit and CAD.
  • CFD Analysis experience is preferred.
  • Required Computer Skills: Revit, HVAC load calculation software, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of building and energy codes.
  • Candidate must have experience working on multiple projects at one time and must be able to demonstrate efficient and effective use of budgeted hours.
  • Position requires local travel and visits to client/construction sites.
  • Demonstrate stable employment history.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, if candidate does not possess a PE, candidate must be on a path to licensure. Must have an active Engineer-In-Training Certification at a minimum.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial and/or industrial buildings.
  • At least two (2) years of recent experience working in Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD MEP.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and willingness to learn new software specific to company processes preferred.

Salary Range: $75k-$125k/yr
