Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at ICONMA. As a Phlebotomist I, you will play a critical role in assisting in the performance of various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Collection and Processing: Collect and store specimens according to established procedures, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication and Patient Interaction: Clearly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients, demonstrating technique and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Test Requisition and Specimen Management: Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure 100% accuracy in test requisitions and computer labeling, comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, and maintain accurate records.
  • Administrative Support: Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of phlebotomy procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations.
