Position Overview: The Room Quality Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodations by the housekeeping team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all rooms meet the established cleanliness standards and are prepared promptly for incoming guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor towards guests, management, and team members at all times.
  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms assigned to housekeeping staff to verify adherence to cleanliness and productivity standards.
  • Communicate any deficiencies found during inspections to the respective Room Attendant, ensuring corrective actions are taken and re-inspections are performed.
  • Ensure daily assignment records are accurately completed and submitted to the housekeeping office.
  • Manage key control and oversee laundry staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with Guest Services to address discrepancies in room status and verify room conditions.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with established protocols.
  • Utilize communication devices to maintain contact with the Front Office and Engineering teams.
  • Assign daily tasks to Room Attendants and ensure all staff members are actively engaged in their duties.
  • Monitor the organization and cleanliness of housekeeping carts, linen closets, and common areas.
  • Report on the status of out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager in line with hotel standards.
  • Initiate and follow up on maintenance requests to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in training new Room Attendants and ensure ongoing development of the team.
  • Participate in regular maintenance and cleaning projects as scheduled.
  • Support housekeeping management in the preparation of operational standards.
  • Ensure that special requests from VIP guests are managed effectively.
  • Strive to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant college coursework is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Effective listening skills to address concerns raised by guests and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating guest needs and operational requirements.
