Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Competitive Swim Coach to lead our swim team to success. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our coaching staff, developing and implementing effective coaching strategies, and ensuring the highest level of quality in our swim programs.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing coaching staff focused on providing exceptional service and instruction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support and motivate staff to achieve goals and retention.
  • Review and evaluate coaching staff performance, ensuring compliance with YMCA standards and methods of operation.
  • Ensure the team complies with YMCA standards and methods of operation, integrating member-service and engagement strategies into all interactions with parents.
  • Build and expand program enrollment and participation, monitoring and evaluating delivery and effectiveness of team and coaches.
  • Communicate team information, changes, and needs in a timely manner to supervisor and branch staff.
  • Provide written and verbal communication to all team parents and coaches for clear understanding of practices, travel, and YMCA team policies.
Requirements
  • Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values.
  • Must have USA Swimming coach credentials, including athlete protection and safe sport certifications.
  • Complete BLS, AED, First Aid, and O2 training in accordance with Conditions of Employment.
  • Learn and demonstrate all applicable emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and/or program.
  • Understand and abide by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association.
Working Conditions

This position requires a 40-hour workweek, including travel, evenings, and weekends. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively as a team member and independently, leading by assigned goals, duties, and deadlines.
