Job Title: Heavy Equipment Service Apprentice Technician

Monk JCB is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Service Apprentice Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair equipment and components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Source and order parts to achieve superior efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and in support of company financial metrics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on JCB equipment, as directed, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Communicate progress of repairs with the Service Manager to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Properly use company-owned special tooling, including maintaining all company-owned assets in a clean and safe manner.
  • Complete all associated paperwork in a timely manner, including work orders, parts orders, and time records.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and quality control measures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, Technical School a plus.
  • Ability to learn and properly use JCB diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, as needed, including occasional weekend work.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings and background check.
  • Must own adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties.
Work Environment:
  • Regularly works in varied environments; indoors in unconditioned spaces around moving mechanical parts, or outdoors and possibly be exposed to weather extremes that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
  • Dynamic and possibly elevated noise levels over extended periods.
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure fluids, and high-speed rotating equipment as typically experienced by Heavy Equipment Service Technicians.
