Lead Scientist

The Judge Group is seeking a highly skilled Lead Scientist to oversee a team of junior scientists in a laboratory environment. As a subject matter expert in heat transfer fluids, this individual will be responsible for leading the group and supporting customer, operational, and technical interactions.
This role requires a strong analytical chemistry background and experience managing a team of scientists. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment and have managed 1-2 persons previously.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Leading the group of scientists and supporting the development and production of heat transfer fluids.
- Providing technical liaison support to third-party tollers, including technical support for deviations to the production process.
- Maintaining and updating formulation sheets, providing database support, and technical support for customer complaints.
- Communicating with OEM customers on PPAP and managing and resolving issues for OEM fluid production.
- Managing the vLIMS database, including maintaining test plans, development work with IT, and integration of instruments into vLIMS.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry or a related field and experience analyzing aqueous samples using HPLC, IC, and ICP. They will also have knowledge of heat transfer fluids and experience developing analytical test methods and laboratory methods.
