Job Summary

The Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) plays a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of construction sites. As a CST, you will be responsible for implementing screening and inspection procedures, monitoring construction and personnel, and providing detailed reports to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and observe construction workers to prevent the introduction of hostile surveillance devices into finished construction.
  • Screen all equipment, materials, and furnishings destined for use in the controlled construction area using X-ray machines and other approved methods.
  • Operate proposed inspection equipment and utilize knowledge of construction disciplines to identify potential security risks.
  • Analyze designs and blueprints to recognize intended use and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Exercise knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive 705 standards, technical surveillance countermeasures, and construction principles to identify and mitigate security threats.
  • Write detailed reports in English and complete analyses of issues, findings, and security situations that require staff action.
  • Maintain daily logs during your tour of duty and perform other duties of similar scope and nature as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a CST for U.S. Government construction security projects.
  • Served on previous construction projects (preferred).
  • Completion of a U.S. Government-approved CST training course.
Working Conditions

As a CST, you will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. You must be able to maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. You may be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area. You may be required to work overtime without advance notice and may be required to use vehicle in the performance of duties.
