Truck Driver CDL B Job Description

Ryder is seeking a qualified Class B CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Norwood, MA. As a SOLO Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering freight to a 150-mile radius, with a focus on local home daily routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading and unloading freight, or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight as required by the customer

Requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide a valid Class A or Class B CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle, with at least 9 months of experience within the past 3 years, or 2 years of experience within the last 5 years, or 5 years of experience within the last 10 years
