Position Summary
Tactical Air Support is in search of a proficient Aircraft Mechanic III to enhance our Maintenance division. This role is essential in maintaining our fleet of fighter aircraft, backed by over 75 years of collective expertise in tactical aviation upkeep and more than 30 years in military adversary contract maintenance. Our Maintenance team is composed of dedicated, A&P-certified professionals, technicians, and logistics experts committed to ensuring safe and efficient ground maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, high productivity, discipline, teamwork, technical aptitude, and responsiveness to the needs of the organization, colleagues, and clients. Reporting to the Senior Site Maintenance Manager, the selected individual will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance tasks, including:
- Inspection and operational testing of aircraft.
- Repair, modification, and troubleshooting of assigned aircraft, components, and equipment.
- Providing technical assistance and guidance to fellow team members as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with 5-6 years of relevant experience.
- Current experience in the aircraft maintenance field, preferably within military or government aviation maintenance sectors.
- Familiarity with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38).
- A&P Certification or the ability to acquire it.
- Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).
- Valid state driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- A&P certification.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance if necessary).
- Regular use of hands and fingers to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, including reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly ascending and descending stairs and/or ladders.
Work Authorization
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
- Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is mandatory.
- Exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments with potential loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, and varying climate conditions (hot/cold).
- May be required to handle hazardous materials.
- Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual needs.
- Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
- Travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
