Position Purpose and Objectives
The Loan Advisor (LA) role within the centralized sales team acts as a primary phone liaison and sales authority for our members, guiding them through the entire loan process. LAs are adept at quickly establishing rapport with members to identify their current and unmet financial needs. They leverage this understanding to propose suitable product solutions and finalize sales while upholding a high standard of member service and urgency. LAs consistently manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms, and surpass their performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive interviews with applicants to build relationships and gain insights into their complete financial situation, ensuring well-documented applications.
- Analyze credit reports to cross-sell additional lending and credit union offerings, educating members on strategies to enhance their credit scores.
- Employ open-ended questions, active listening, and persuasive communication to address objections and successfully close sales.
- Effectively present and promote ancillary products (such as GAP insurance, extended warranties, and payment protection plans) while achieving established penetration targets.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with underwriting and processing teams, while also supporting fellow Loan Advisors in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintain an organized loan pipeline to meet service level agreements through consistent follow-up and proactive communication, ensuring a high approval-to-funding ratio.
- Clarify the loan process, gather necessary documentation, complete applications, and route them to the underwriting and processing teams.
- Stay informed about credit reporting, loan processing protocols, and underwriting standards.
- Ensure loan files are comprehensive and accurate, including detailed comments and recommendations to facilitate loan decisions.
- Facilitate timely loan closings by promptly responding to underwriting and processing inquiries.
- Actively engage in outbound calling campaigns, contests, and other sales initiatives to drive business growth.
- Adhere to all departmental and security policies, procedures, and federal regulations, including BSA requirements.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing member inquiries, resolving issues, and directing them to the appropriate departments to ensure satisfaction.
- Provide backup support for the general phone queue to assist members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
