The Flight Nurse Team Supervisor is responsible for fostering collaboration among team members to meet strategic objectives and departmental targets.

This role involves facilitating communication of the department's vision and goals, nurturing a team of highly skilled professionals, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective use of resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The Flight Nurse Team Supervisor is a registered nurse (RN) who advocates for patients and their families, providing comprehensive physical, emotional, and spiritual support that positively influences patient outcomes in a secure environment.

This position encompasses a versatile role that exemplifies professionalism and encourages excellence and autonomy in nursing practice.

The Flight Nurse Team Supervisor employs the nursing process alongside evidence-based practices to deliver advanced emergency and critical care during medical transport, while also providing nursing care for patients throughout the organization.

In addition, this role includes responsibilities related to public relations and medical education. The Flight Nurse Team Supervisor acts as a guide, healer, collaborator, educator, leader, and protector, working closely with the inter-professional team to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Accountability for adherence to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics, and relevant regulatory standards is a critical aspect of this role.


Education:
BSN required

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Valid Ohio RN license
  • Required certifications at the time of hire:
a. Current CPR, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, and PALS
b. Certified EMT-B OR Professional Nursing Certification

  • Certifications required within specified time frames following hire:
a. 1 year - NRP, ATLS (audit)
b. 2 years - CAMTS approved Nursing certification and Certified EMT-P in the State of Ohio

Experience:

Minimum - 7 years of experience as a Flight Nurse required; 2 years must be as a Flight Nurse within the department. Previous experience in pre-hospital or critical care transport is preferred.
